I grew up in Granger, Indiana--a small town near South Bend/Notre Dame. People always ask if I am an ND fan--I'm not. I'm actually a U of Michigan fan. Growing up, I was always into sports. In my life I've played baseball, soccer, hockey, lacrosse, football snowboarded, been surfing, ran cross country, and ran track (hurdles), but hockey and lacrosse are the two that stuck with me.
I went to St. Joseph's Prep in South Bend, IN and graduated with academic honors in 2006, where I played four years of varsity lacrosse and two years of varsity hockey. My junior and senior year, I played Midget Major AAA hockey for the West Michigan Warriors in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I drove an hour and a half to get to practices and home games. In 2006-07, I played junior hockey for the Northern Cyclones in Hudson, New Hampshire and lived with a host family, which consisted of two parents, and their then eleven year old son.
In the summer of 2007, I enrolled at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts, and started pursuing a degree in architecture. I graduated with a B.S. in Architecture in August 2011. Currently, I live in Hopkinton, MA and work for a solar energy company and design rooftop solar panel systems.
In my "Welcome" post, I incorrectly stated that this was my first blog, ever. After publishing that, I realized that this was not my first blog. From March 2010-April 2011, I published stories for BroBible (http://www.brobible.com/). I won't tell you what my handle was on that website, but I did publish between 30 and 40 stories for them.
My other interests include: beaches, boating, cook-outs, bonfires, the Cape & Islands, Vineyard Vines, Jeep, U.S. History, America, Sperry Top-Sider, dogs, comedy, and country music.
