The Weekend That Was: Chatham

The weekend of February 10-12 was a pretty fun one. On Friday the 10th, I got out of work a couple of hours early (don't worry, I worked later the rest of the week), and went to Boston to pick up Allison for a trip down Cape Cod to Chatham. If you think of the Cape as a flexed arm, Chatham is in the elbow. What is normally about an hour and half drive, took closer to three. Traffic was horrendous. I'd expect that from Memorial Day to Labor Day, but wasn't quite ready for it in February. We made it to the Chatham Bars Inn around 6:30 Friday night and got settled in our room. Dinner was at the main lodge of the inn.

Saturday was very snowy, but that didn't stop us from going out. After an all you can eat brunch buffet, we explored Main Street in Chatham, and luckily, most of the stores there are open year-round. We also took a little drive to the Chatham Lighthouse, and to a couple of beaches. The fireplace in the room was definitely needed when we got back to rest up before another dinner at the main lodge.

Sunday was a day to sleep in a bit, followed by another all you can eat brunch. After checking out, we did drive a bit further down the Cape to Orleans, but found nothing worth getting out of the car for. It was a very cold, and very windy day, so it would've taken a lot for us to get out of the Jeep anyway.

On Flaws...

Everyone has flaws. Believe it or not, even I do. (Joke). The difference is your attitude towards them. There's nothing wrong with wanting to improve yourself, but make sure you keep it healthy--speaking of, is anyone still keeping up with those New Year's Resolutions?

Anyway, here's the thing that I don't understand: why do so many people, usually females, feel the need to point out their flaws to everyone else? I know you feel like that tiny pimple on your nose, or the fact that your eye brows are just a tiny bit uneven is going to be blatantly obvious to to the entire world, but they're not! At least, they're not until you go pointing them out to everyone; then, yes, it is really obvious.

Next time you make someone grab your fat rolls, don't be surprised/upset if they start to think you have fat rolls. After all, you are the one that put the idea in their head! When in doubt, say nothing, and I bet that no one will notice most of the things that you're considering flaws.

Not Again!

Looks like another month has pretty much gone by with no posts. I wish I had some great reason for it, but I guess I've just been busy. Hopefully I still have a reader or two left out there. The month has been pretty busy: I've decided to take another stab at graduate school.  I also took a recent weekend trip down the Cape to Chatham, and will have a post about that coming up soon.

February has been marked by revamping my portfolio, trying to track down recommendations, filling out FAFSA forms, and trying to make a little progress on my 2011 Taxes. Remind me why I was so eager to be an adult when I was a kid?

This time I am committed to getting back into writing, so stick with me! I'm also working on a couple of ideas for some new video posts, so there's something you can look forward to!

Let's See, Where Was I...

Oh yeah, my last post was on January 6. Hopefully all of my followers haven't given up on me yet. A quick up-date on my college bowl picks: In my last round of bowl picks, I was 3-1, which put me at 19-11 for bowls, and 131-48 for the season overall.

Here were some of my January highlights:
-Helped Allison move back in at BU. She has a great suite with a fantastic view of the Charles River and downtown Boston skyline
-Strongly considering taking a second shot at graduate school for architecture
-Someone quit at work, so now I'm doing a bunch of extra tasks, and trying to get a raise accordingly
-Weather has still been in the 30's/40's with no snow
-Two of my least favorite teams are playing in the Super Bowl on Sunday
-Did an open skate at BU's Walter Brown Arena
-Car was towed last week for being parked in a street cleaning zone

George Washington University Lax Helmets

Check out these photos of the helmets that the George Washington University Men's Club Lacrosse team will be sporting this year. The team, which changed their name from Colonials, to Brolonials, chose HeadWrapz to design the helmet. Normally, I'm not a fan of the HeadWrapz look on helmets, but I am pretty fond of this design. The write side features the school's Colonials mascot, and the left side is the famous painting of Washington crossing the Delaware River.
